V Series Ramp Up
In this behind-the-scenes look at the build process of our exciting new V Series center consoles, hull No. 1 of the V-37 is pulled from its mold at Viking Mullica. A custom hydraulic-powered turning machine allows our shipwrights to rotate, raise and lower the hull for optimal build positioning. This is a full-throttle ramp-up, so we’ve established separate manufacturing lines for each of the three Valhalla Boatworks models – the V-33, V-37 and V-41.
The resin-infused structural grid you see here will deliver the strength and support needed for these high-performance hulls. Resin infusion maximizes structural integrity with the efficient use of resin and fiberglass. New Product Development Manager Bill Hall (right) and Bill Heller, Research and Development FRP Senior Manager (left), have been instrumental in the evolution of the V Series, bringing a combined 55 years of experience to this long-awaited center console start-up.
In a video interview in the next V Report, Bill Heller will describe some of the high-tech machinery, technology and resources being used to carry out the design and building of the V Series.
