Stepping Up: The new Valhalla V-46 from Viking

Back in 2019, the Valhalla Boatworks introduced its first center console luxury yachts, built by Viking. The first three Valhalla models, in 33, 37 and 41-foot versions, proved very popular in the market.

But coming in 2021 (set to debut at the Viking VIP show in Riviera Beach, FL in January) is the new V-46. Valhalla says that customers asked for more seating, more space below decks, and more creature comforts. Done, done and done!

The V-46 was designed on the same two-stepped hull as its predecessors, with the Valhalla S-shaped sheer and tumblehome transom. Again, the raised helm station provides great visibility fore and aft.

But the extra six feet of length allowed the designers to add a second row of seating behind the helm, as well as a mezzanine bench facing aft. There’s also a two-person sunpad forward of the helm and two benches with backrests in the bow. No one will have to stand on this boat, unless they want to!

Beneath the massive console is an air-conditioned cabin with headroom more than six feet. Side windows allow in natural light and a private head with shower sits just aft of the galley. A forward dinette with U-shaped seating converts to a queen-sized berth, and the galley is fully accessorized.

To keep all the important electrical and mechanical equipment both dry and easily accessible, Valhalla created a mechanical space–almost a complete engine room–next to the head space. Batteries, generators, and other components that need regular servicing are all easily accessible.

For fishermen, the V-46 is loaded with features, including spreader lights, rocket launchers, and outrigger bases. There are dual 50-gallon livewells in the transom and five insulated fish boxes spread throughout the boat, all plumbed to drain overboard.

For power, the V-46 is built to accommodate quad Mercury 450s or Yamaha 425s, and there’s a dedicated hatch predesigned to accommodate a Seekeeper unit. At the helm, there is space for up to three 22-inch electronics displays.

From bow to stern, Valhalla has designed and built an incredibly efficient, powerful and responsive machine that seeks to provide owners with the ultimate in comfort and luxury.
