Viking Announces Plans for New 68 C

Viking Yachts is already known for building the best sportfishing yachts in the industry. But that doesn’t mean they’re going to rest on their laurels.

Instead, Viking is continuing to push the limits of sportfishing yacht excellence, most recently with the announcement of the new Viking 68 C, a four-stateroom blue-water convertible with unmatched performance, bulletproof construction, luxury interior accommodations and cutting-edge propulsion and boat control technologies.

The 68 C is designed to function equally as well as a cruising yacht as it does a tournament-ready offshore runner. Anglers do battle in a 176-square-foot cockpit, while guests can watch from an air-conditioned observation mezzanine. The boat is engineered for the installation of Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, which heightens comfort during both fishing and cruising activities.

A high-gloss walnut finish decorates the entire interior, and the salon is a blueprint of intelligent form and function, utilizing the 19-foot, 2-inch-wide beam to its full potential. With a layout that puts the companionway to port, the starboard master stateroom is nearly the full beam of the boat. The crew quarters are discretely located, accessed via a separate set of steps off the companionway.

An aggressively raked stem, gently sloping sheer, swept-back black-masked windshield and flying bridge brow present a powerful yet elegant picture. The flybridge holds Viking’s legendary center console helm with superb visibility to all quarters.

The 68 Convertible will be shown at Viking’s invitational 22nd Annual VIP Boat Show Preview, February 2 and 3, 2018, at the Viking Yacht Service Center in Riviera Beach, Florida. She makes her world premiere at the Miami Yacht Show February 15 to 19.
