The Viking View – Hard to Beat

Viking has the most versatile and extensive fleet in the industry. Our Billfish series alone consists of three different models – the 38 and 46 Billfish and the 38 Open Billfish, which is available as a hardtop boat or with a hardtop and tuna tower. Both configurations are custom designed and fabricated by the Viking subsidiary Palm Beach Towers. In this Viking View, we shine the spotlight on a recently completed hardtop version of the 38 Open Billfish.

This 38 Open BF is dressed in a cool Kingston Grey gelcoat, and boasts a sleek bow rail, Lewmar windlass and an air-conditioned command deck and cabin. PBT‘s custom hardtop is outfitted with a triangular-style molded fiberglass radar pod, 20’ carbon fiber telescoping outriggers, six rod holders welded to the aft main legs, and another half dozen across the aft side of the hardtop.

The hardtop is also home to a host of electronics and navigation appendages from Atlantic Marine Electronics (another Viking company), including a Garmin radar (with 4′ array antenna), a FLIR thermal imaging camera and a remote-controlled ACR spotlight.

When the weather turns, you can easily button her up thanks to the Costa Marine enclosure. The business end of the boat has a 109-square-foot cockpit, with ample fishbox, freezer and rod storage. Immediately accessible from the cockpit, the command deck features Release Marine helm and companion chairs with teak ladder backs and port and starboard seating areas. At the helm, the captain has Optimus electronic steering at his disposal, along with the Cummins Inboard Joystick System.

Our Billfish Series has been white hot, with high demand for all three models. We’re busy completing another 38 Open Billfish, also a hardtop boat outfitted similarly to the Kingston Grey boat.
