The Viking View – Born Ready

Blue on Blue

Born 2 Run, Dana and Lisa Foster’s Viking 72, had a solid two-day trip fishing the Appomattox Platform in the Gulf of Mexico. As captain Myles Colley said, “It was an awesome trip. Great weather, calm water and a tremendous crew.”

The team released three blue marlin and boated five yellowfins all weighing from 125 to 140 pounds. Pictured above (from left) is Brian Paul, Dana Foster, Robert Bonifay and Doug Franklin. Thank you Tyler Cruitt for the drone shot.

Do South
This sporty 38 Billfish is heading south for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Hull number nine of the series will be a part of the 21-boat-strong fleet displayed on D-Dock at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center. She will join the 38 Open Billfish and 46 Billfish as well as all three new Valhalla Boatworks V Series models. Of course the full Viking line up will be out in full force including a 44 Open and 93 Motor Yacht and everything in between. The show opens at noon on Wednesday, October 30, and runs through Sunday, November 3. For more information, contact your authorized Viking dealer.
Caption This
Thanks for the laughs! As boat show craziness is mounting, it was perfect timing to read through the many Caption This submissions to relieve a little pressure.

Congratulations goes out to Rockey & Shelley for the winning caption, “Where’s the new mate? Guess he got cold feet.” Shirts are going out to runners up Tom and Chet as well. Thanks again to Edited Productions and Eddie Twyford for the great shot. And read on to see some of the other one-liners that gave us a chuckle.

“Time to cool your heels.”
“While icing down the day’s catch, the crew put the knife to it for a filet of sole.”
“Crocs on the rocks.”
“What you do after a stinky day of fishing.”
“The mate will never forget to turn on the ice maker again.”
“What happens when the mob runs out of cement.”
