The V Report – Fine Art

Valhalla 41

We have a strong rapport with our Valhalla owners and take every opportunity to talk to them about their boats and adventures. Recently, for example, we spoke to our friend up in Cape Cod, Joe Zink, who just took delivery of this beautiful Kingston Grey V-41. Here’s what he had to say.

“When I think of Valhalla – I think of one word: quality,” says Joe, who bought the V-41 (with a Palm Beach Towers gap tower and quad Mercury Verado 400s) through Oyster Harbors Marine in Osterville, Massachusetts. “It’s like the BMW of center consoles. Everything is well-engineered and well-made. I have a great appreciation for a quality product, so just looking at my Valhalla is going to make me happy. To me, it’s like a piece of fine art – beautiful, well-designed and aesthetically pleasing – and on top of all that is the functionality, fishability and performance.”

“It’s not just about the boat,” Joe adds. “When you own a Valhalla you have the entire company and its great dealers standing behind you, ready to support you. I’ve been with Oyster Harbors for 25 years. The key to enjoying boating is to keep the boat up and running and well-maintained. Oyster Harbors understands this, and they have the people who understand how Viking/Valhalla operate.”

“With Palm Beach Towers and Atlantic Marine Electronics, I also appreciate the vertical integration and the quality control of the company, especially in today’s world,” says Joe. “The more you control in the manufacturing process, the more control you have over the quality of your product.”

“We do a lot of tuna fishing off Cape Cod – that’s our passion,” says Joe, referring to his three sons, Grady, Will and Griffin who are 25 to 20 years in age. “So we needed speed, fishability and functionality for day trips where we’ll be running from 40 to 120 miles chasing bluefin tuna. I can envision us cruising out to the fishing grounds at 55 mph, leaving at 4 a.m. and being back in port the same day.”

“The layout of the seating and the protection of the hardtop and windshield are major qualities,” says Joe. “We’ll be going offshore with four or five anglers and we’ll all be comfortable. “The abundance of seating, particularly in the bow, will also be perfect for taking my daughter Shannon and her friends on cocktail cruises and enjoying Nantucket Sound sunsets. It’s going to be a great summer.”
