The V Report – Feel the Beat

Valhalla 37
Crank the stereo and punch the throttles. Time to blast off aboard this fierce-looking 70-mph V-37 with triple Mercury Verado 400s. We gave you a sneak peek of her two-tone grey-over-black hull in the last V Report, and now (as promised) it’s time to feast your eyes on the completed masterpiece from
Valhalla Boatworks (VBW).
Chris Scarborough and Gina Gervato wanted a fast, sexy sportboat personalized for their boating lifestyle, which includes plenty of day-cruising, beach hopping and relaxing with friends while enjoying music and cocktails. (The boat has 19 cupholders!) The South Jersey couple took delivery of the
V-37 Silver Fox last week through their VBW dealer, Valhalla Boat Sales North in New Greta, New Jersey, and spent the weekend showcasing their
V Series to envious on-lookers from Atlantic City to Cape May.
Premium Cadet Grey upholstery (with Diamond/Bentley stitching and black piping) is perfectly paired with the Whisper Grey deck liner, coaming, console and helm seating module. Silver Fox’s custom entertainment package from the Viking subsidiary Atlantic Marine Electronics features a Fusion Apollo Marine Stereo, 10 JL Audio speakers and four amplifiers. Just about every area of a Valhalla can be tailored to the owner’s liking. Chris and Gina swapped out the aft rod holders in the gunwales for drink holders (below right), giving guests an easy-to-reach home for their beverage when they settle into the GG Schmitt integrated transom seats. The couple also went with the convenient pop-up stainless steel stern cleats in lieu of hawse pipes and fixed lower cleats.
Release Marine teak helm chairs with outboard armrests, electric slides and flip-up bolsters continue to be a very popular seating option on the V Series, as does the Edson carbon fiber steering wheel and Release Marine teak helm pod. A pair of 17-inch multi-function displays anchor the VBW-installed Garmin electronics package. An excellent boat handler, Chris went without a bow thruster and joystick but will certainly make use of the standard Zipwake Dynamic Trim-Control System. The Fusion touchscreen is mounted in the molded-in overhead electronics pod, along with the Garmin autopilot and ICOM VHF radio.
Four more speakers are integrated into the custom Haze Grey hardtop – a pair forward and aft of the ProCurve solid glass enclosure. A faux teak toerail wraps around the bow, complementing the boat’s grey and black hues. Cupholders are smartly placed outboard of the console lounge and the forward seating. The recessed bow rail and hardtop frame with rocket launcher boast an in-house black powder-coated finish. At Chris’ request, the rocket launcher was fabricated with five – instead of the normal six – rod holders to enable a centerline rod holder for the American Flag.
Antennas, Lumitec lights, rubrail and lower guard rail are also customized in black.
In addition to the V-37, the V Series includes the V-33 and V-41. For information about any of these high-performance center consoles please contact Oyster Harbors Marine.
