We just finished wrapping up an early holiday gift for you – a captivating video of our new Valhalla 46’s first sea trial. Watch the V-46, powered with quad Mercury 450Rs, tear up the water in this fast-paced film that was captured from the cockpit of a Viking 72. Hull No. 1 of the V-46 topped out at an amazing 71 mph while demonstrating flawless maneuverability and handling, rapid acceleration and excellent overall performance. “The boat ran incredibly, exceeding all expectations,” said Viking President and CEO Pat Healey. “We can’t wait to present the V-46 to the world.” Our new Valhalla Boatworks flagship will make its world premiere at the Viking and Valhalla VIP Boat Show Jan. 28-30 in Riviera Beach, Florida, at the Viking Yacht Service Center. Here’s some fast facts about the sea trial: Conducted in New Jersey’s Great Bay, with a full crew, 475 gallons of fuel and 33 gallons of diesel (for the generator). The V-46 contained no fresh water and certain soft goods and miscellaneous equipment equating to roughly 1,200 pounds had not been installed yet. Performance data was taken with a GPS, recorded in two directions and then averaged. Our Design and Engineering Department will continue to make tweaks as we strive for even better performance.
