Valhalla 33
Check out these two Bass River bad boys – a V-33 and V-37, both wearing Shark Grey gelcoats and powered with Mercury Verado V8 300s. They’re fast, sexy and just flat-out awesome. After the video, take a few minutes and peruse some pics of the 33, a highly personalized boat owned by legendary Viking Designer Bruce Wilson and his son David (the current Design Manager for Viking and Valhalla Boatworks).
From bow to stern, every inch of the Wilsons’ Valhalla 33 was meticulously planned out. There are at least a half dozen different greys decorating the boat. All topsides (that includes the console and its interior, seating modules and in-deck boxes), the hardtop exterior and radar pod are Whisper Grey; the hull and hardtop underside are Shark Grey; the Diamond/Bentley upholstery is Cadet Grey; and Capriccio Grey was chosen for the upholstery’s main color and piping.
Custom features inside the console include black acrylic doors for the storage and access areas and the battery distribution panel. The vanity is topped with Graylite Corian with a gloss finish. Last but not least is the Dark Grey and Storm Grey SeaDek that covers the walking surfaces and the expansive forward dry storage area.
The tackle locker door in the seating module was the perfect place for the infamous Viking serpent. The door also serves as a rigging table when open. The pull-out drawer below holds an abundance of tackle, tools, line and artificials.
The black Mercurys, radar and outriggers as well as the boat’s various teak and faux teak enhancements complement the grey tones nicely. The Wilsons have racked up over 120 hours in August and September on Keel-Bro (named after David’s daughter Keely and son Brody), including cruising to Saint Michaels, Maryland, and running 80-plus miles offshore for swordfish.
