Viking’s New 37 Billfish Hits the Water

After months of anticipation, Viking’s exciting new 37 Billfish made its long-awaited debut in February.

This new Viking model was unveiled at the annual Viking VIP Boat Show Preview in Riviera Beach, Florida, and then later in the month it wowed the public at the Yachts Miami Beach boat show, where showgoers were impressed with its classic day boat style.

This sporty convertible breaks new ground in its class as both a highly-capable sportfishing boat and a comfortable family cruiser. The 37 Billfish boasts a style reminiscent of the classic day boats of the 1950s and 60s while having the fishing features to make it a contender in any offshore tournament.

The 86-square-foot cockpit is designed for fishing with a transom livewell, flush rod holders, in-deck fish boxes, tackle stowage, mezzanine seating, and a deep bait freezer. The flying bridge features Viking’s signature center console helm layout with superb visibility, hydraulic steering, single lever controls, electronic stowage and comfortable seating for the operator and guests.

An appealing feature of the 37 Billfish is its lower helm station in the deckhouse. Lower controls are popular both for extending the boating season in temperate climates, as well as helping to avoid the heat and sun during the height of summer, when equipped with its available air conditioning. Just a few steps from the cockpit, the lower station is convenient when fishing and docking.

A large stateroom forward comes with an island queen bed. An alternative arrangement features comfortable crossover berths. The generously appointed head includes a spacious shower and plenty of counter space.
