Ready to prove once again that Viking is the world leader in sportfish boatbuilding, the new Viking 68 Convertible emerges from the New Gretna, New Jersey, manufacturing plant last week, revealing her splendid Shimmering Blue hull.

Our 70-ton Travelift carries the 115,306-pound, four-stateroom yacht to the make-ready dock where she will be prepared for sea trials. The first 68 C is powered with twin optional 1945-hp MTU Series 2000 V12 M96Ls.

Finish Mechanic Foreman Tom Harris directs the Travelift into position so the 68 C can be lowered into the basin. The photo shows the 68 C‘s sharp entry, variable deadrise and bow flare, which are just some of the design traits that give the boat a smooth, dry and stable ride.

The 68 C will be shown at our invitational 22nd Annual VIP Boat Show Preview at the Viking Yacht Service Center in Riviera Beach, Florida. Our new 82 Cockpit Motor Yacht with enclosed bridge, which is pictured to the right of the 68 C, will also be on display at the February 2-3 event.
The 68 C settles in for the night in this twilight photograph that captures the yacht’s bold but elegant profile. For more information on the 68 Convertible or any other Viking sportfishing or motor yacht please contact your authorized Viking dealer.

68 EB Coming Soon
Like us on FacebookFollow us on TwitterView on InstagramView our videos on YouTube

Viking has been the pioneer in the design and development of the enclosed bridge for decades, and the latest example of our prowess in this facet of boat building is our new 68 EB.

Captains and owners appreciate being comfortably out of the weather in the climate-controlled command center of our enclosed bridge boats. The wraparound windshield provides excellent visibility in all directions. Plus, our enclosed bridges (the 72 EB is shown above) are large enough to hold a luxurious second salon. The enclosed bridge option is offered with our sportfishing boats from 62 to 92 feet and our 75, 82 and 93 motor yachts.

The 68 Enclosed Bridge will follow the introduction of the Viking 68 Convertible, an open bridge model in a Shimmering Blue that will make its world premiere at the Miami Yacht Show on Collins Avenue February 15 through 19.

The open and enclosed bridge models of our 68 Convertible share the same four-stateroom, four-head layout. Notice that the crew quarters are discretely located, accessed via a separate set of steps off the companionway.

The incredible 68 C will be shown at our invitational 22nd Annual VIP Boat Show Preview, February 2-3, 2018, at the Viking Yacht Service Center in Riviera Beach, Florida. For more information, contact your authorized Viking dealer.

“Another Legendary Boat”
Like us on FacebookFollow us on TwitterView on InstagramView our videos on YouTube

Viking continues its dominance of the sportfishing yacht industry with the announcement of the 68 C, a four-stateroom blue-water convertible with unmatched performance, bulletproof construction, luxury interior accommodations and cutting-edge propulsion and boat control technologies.

The 68 C is designed and engineered to function equally as well as a tournament-ready offshore runner and a cruising yacht. Anglers do battle in a 176-square-foot cockpit, while guests can watch from an air-conditioned observation mezzanine. The boat is engineered for the installation of Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, which heightens comfort during both fishing and cruising activities.

“The 68 is another legendary boat in a long line of fishing boats for Viking in the 60-foot and 70-foot range,” Viking President and CEO Patrick Healey said during the announcement of the boat at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. “No one is doing the job we are doing today in this size range. We’re just crushing it.”

A high-gloss walnut finish decorates the entire interior, and the salon is a blueprint of intelligent form and function, utilizing the 19 ft. 2 in. beam to its full potential.

With a layout that puts the companionway to port, the starboard master stateroom is nearly the full beam of the boat. The crew quarters are discretely located, accessed via a separate set of steps off the companionway.
An aggressively raked stem, gently sloping sheer, swept-back black-masked windshield and flying bridge brow present a powerful yet elegant picture.
The flybridge holds our legendary center console helm with superb visibility to all quarters.

The 68 Convertible will be shown at our invitational 22nd Annual VIP Boat Show Preview, February 2-3, 2018, at the Viking Yacht Service Center in Riviera Beach, Florida. She makes her world premiere at the Miami Yacht Show on Collins Avenue February 15 through 19. For more information, contact your authorized Viking dealer.

Our new 44 Open not only appeals to families ready to take the next step into the Viking lifestyle, it’s also a logical choice for owners of outboard-powered center console boats looking for more comfort, conveniences and weather protection.

Because of its efficient use of space and larger-boat  amenities, the 44 O also gives seasoned owners who are looking to downsize the opportunity to continue experiencing Viking quality and performance.
The command deck of the 44 Open shares many of the practical and notable aspects of its larger siblings, including our signature centerline forward helm station on a raised platform for enhanced visibility. A table accompanies a four-person L-shaped lounge (with storage underneath) outfitted with comfortable padded seating. The port console holds refrigeration and stowage that includes tackle drawers.
Just steps away from the command deck, the 119-square-foot cockpit is tournament-ready with flush rod holders, a transom live well, and a transom door with a lift gate, tackle stowage, step-box coolers and in-deck fish and stowage wells. Guests can take in the fishing action from the observation mezzanine’s aft-facing lounge seating (which has freezer storage underneath).
The starboard-side galley includes teak cabinetry, expansive Corian countertops, an electric range, separate under-counter refrigerator and freezer units and a microwave/convection oven. Other notable amenities include a stereo system with a 24-inch flat screen TV.
A sliding companionway door and a large set of stairs with a starboard-side vertical handrail lead to the climate-controlled salon. With its 16 ft. 4 in. beam, the widest of any boat in this class, the salon is a spacious social area for relaxing and entertaining.
In the climate-controlled forward master stateroom, the island queen bed with mattress has a lift-up top with gas pistons and maple-lined storage underneath. Additional storage includes teak cabinetry and a maple-lined hanging locker.
Left: A one-piece molded Corian countertop with rounded edges, a sink with satin nickel faucet and custom Amtico flooring are just some of the highlights in the head. Right: With its two-person berth, the aft guest stateroom can accommodate another couple and makes for a nice hideaway for the kids.

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is less than a month away, so make plans to come and see the 44 Open, which will be part of Viking‘s 15-vessel display at the November 1-5 event. For more information, please contact your authorized Viking dealer.

Viking’s Newest Convertible
Like us on FacebookFollow us on TwitterView on InstagramView our videos on YouTube
Our new Viking 44 Convertible will use the same proprietary running surface as our 44 Open, giving her the high performance of a Viking express fishing boat, and the stylish deckhouse, expansive salon and luxurious accommodations of a Viking convertible.
She’s a comfortable, capable tournament contender with the largest flying bridge in her class, equally capable of running fast to the canyons on gnarly Northeastern weather days or blasting over to the Bahamas in 90-degree heat. Captains will appreciate the 360-degree visability of the 44 C’s center console walk-around helm. Surrounded by comfortable seating, the helmsman can enjoy conversations with guests while operating the boat from an autonomous command center.
You’ll have 119 square feet of battleground in a cockpit that’s armed with an arsenal of standard equipment such as flush rod holders, fresh and salt water wash down systems, a transom live well and a transom door with lift gate, tackle stowage, step-box cooler and an in-deck fish and a stowage well.
No other company has more experience and know-how building convertible sportfishing yachts than Viking, which was founded more than five decades ago. “We’re constantly working to perfect our hull designs,” says Paul Raposa, Viking Engineering Manager. “In this picture (right), you can see prop pockets, chines, strakes and the hull deadrise. All these design elements, which are always evolving and getting better, will factor greatly into the 44 C’s seakindly and dry ride.”
“The 44 C’s wave-slicing entry angle gradually flattens moving aft where the deadrise provides lift and support for exceptional performance,” says Viking Design Manager David Wilson. “The downturned chines and strakes knock down spray, but also contribute to lift and stability.”
Viking will introduce the 44 C at our invitational 22nd Annual VIP Boat Show Preview, February 2-3, 2018, at the Viking Yacht Service Center in Riviera Beach, Florida. You can also see the yacht at its world premiere at the Yachts Miami Beach boat show February 15-19. For more information about the Viking 44 C, contact your authorized local dealer.

The Viking 75 Motor Yacht was an instant hit with its style, luxury, and performance when it launched. But this new model also offered several features not typically found in its LOA, including a climate-controlled enclosed bridge with a retractable sunroof. The hull was designed to run strong like a Viking convertible, and the deck layout provides space to relax under way as well as at dockside.

The salon is a spacious environment for entertaining. The sliding glass aft door opens the area from the teak-planked aft deck to the casual dining area forward of the galley. Large salon windows bring in plenty of natural light to further accent the spaciousness. The interior spiral staircase leads to the enclosed bridge, revealing Viking‘s commitment to an artful use of space.
The fore and aft open galley arrangement, with its world-class appliances, provide practicality within another social area.
Talk about waterfront dining. With its large wraparound seating, the aft deck’s dinette area is the perfect place for big family dinners.
Impressive and elegant, the full-beam master stateroom provides privacy and comfort. Three additional staterooms deliver similar amenities for family and guests. Crew quarters with private access are provided aft.
Viking pioneered the enclosed bridge for convertible yachts, and aboard the 75 MY, the bridge showcases our experience with this design. The forward helm provides excellent visibility. The navigation package provided by our subsidiary Atlantic Marine Electronics ensures turnkey delivery. Come aboard for a virtual tour here.
The 82 Cockpit Motor Yacht is everything that makes the 75 MY special with a 108 square-foot cockpit providing an excellent platform for fishing. The cockpit abounds with fishing amenities typically found aboard our convertibles including flush rod holders, a transom fish box, a bait freezer, tackle stowage, and a transom door with a lift gate. A nine-foot-wide lounge molded into the mezzanine has ample stowage compartments and engineroom access.
The 82 CMY also has a strikingly attractive open bridge with a centerline helm forward delivering excellent sightlines. Abaft the helm, the area is devoted to experiencing the outdoors. A dinette, a wet bar, refrigeration, and an electric grill help get the party started. Further aft there is a sun pad, room for lounge chairs and a tender, and a teak planked staircase to the after deck. Both the 75 MY and the 82 CMY represent Viking‘s commitment to build a better boat every day. We invite you to contact your Viking dealer to learn more about these exciting motor yachts and to arrange a sea trial.

Viking Introduces the New 44 Open March 28th, 2017

It might still be early in 2017, but Viking Yachts is already busy creating their exciting new 2018 models. One of those new models in production is the 44 Open, an express-style boat that will appeal to those who enjoy both the thrill of tournament fishing and the fun ...Read More

Get Ready for the Viking 44 Open
View on InstagramLike us on FacebookView our videos on YouTubeFollow us on Twitter

Viking has the youngest fleet in the marine industry and new models keep the production lines in our New Gretna and Viking Mullica facilities hopping. One such new 2018 model is the 44 Open, an express-style boat sure to appeal to the owner/operator who likes staying close to the action in the cockpit, while remaining in the midst of the social activities on the command bridge. Viking built its first Open express boat in 1984 and since then has produced seven models up to 52 feet, each one a success and a versatile performer.
The Viking 44 Open has a resin-infused composite hull and is built with a matrix of fiberglass-encapsulated stringers, vacuum-bagged, cored main and intermediate bulkheads, a customized E-glass lamination schedule and infused fuel and water tanks. An aggressive entry with over 6 feet of freeboard forward rakes over head seas and its sheer line proudly carries aft with an eye pleasing profile. The running surface is equally substantial with 13.9 degree transom deadrise, and two pairs of solid lift strakes to provide lateral response and tracking confidence in any seaway.

The 119 square-foot cockpit with a molded nonslip fiberglass sole is steps away from the command bridge, and tournament ready with flush rod holders, fresh and saltwater wash down systems, a transom live well, and a transom door with a lift gate.  Rounded gunwale coamings add comfort when leaning against them working a fish to the boat. LED rope lighting, gaff and tag stick stowage, a freshwater fill, and a quick disconnect fitting to the oil change system for the engines, transmissions and 13.5 kW Cummins Onan generator highlight Viking’s attention to details.
A step box cooler is a convenient touch, and the tackle cabinet doubles as a bait watch station. An observation mezzanine provides more seating and the Sunbrella cushions lift to reveal additional refrigeration compartments and engineroom access. In-deck stowage wells handle fish and loose gear. An aluminum plate is laminated into the cockpit sole for mounting a fishing chair or rocket launcher. Optional teak cover boards add a custom look.

The command bridge has three pedestal chairs and a centerline helm station on a raised platform for enhanced visibility through the one-piece fiberglass wraparound windshield.  A three sided Costa Clear enclosure will provide all weather protection and available air conditioning offers year round climate control. A molded console handles electronics, and single lever electronic engine controls and power assisted hydraulic steering deliver seamless performance.  A pair of MAN I6 800 CRM diesels gives a 33 knot cruise at 2100 rpm, with a top end around 37.3 knots depending upon load, sea conditions, and other environmental factors.  The L-shape settee and dinette seats four comfortably, and the backrest cushion lifts to expose a convenient rod stowage locker. To port an integral console has refrigeration with an ice maker, and lots of dry stowage.  A Palm Beach Towers tuna tower adds a complete second station.

Thanks to its 16 ft.  4 in. beam, the widest of any boat in its class, the salon is generously appointed and easily adapts for relaxing and entertaining with an L-shape lounge and convertible hi-lo teak table. A 28 inch flat screen television and a multi-directional stereo system provide entertainment.  Amtico flooring, Juno teak joinery, and other designer touches abound.  The galley is well-equipped to feed family and crew, and the two stateroom layout provides plenty of comfort and privacy. The forward master stateroom is especially noteworthy with its queen size bed, air conditioning, carpeting, a 22 inch flat screen television, a Bomar hatch, a maple lined hanging locker, hullside stowage and private access to the head and shower among its many standard amenities.
The Viking 44 Open will launch late summer and be among the headliners at our September Dealer Meeting in Atlantic City, New Jersey. We will keep you posted on this new model’s production schedule over the coming weeks, and invite you to contact your dealer to learn more about it and arrange a sea trial.

The largest Viking built so far in our 53 year history is slated for a private showing at our Dealer Meeting in September followed by its world premiere at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November.  This magnificent yacht is the sum of numerous milestones throughout the build cycle, like the hull infusion process, which took place in late December.

Pulling the hull from the mold and setting into its cradle sets the next phase in motion, preparing it for the production line.

On Line 1, with the mechanical, electrical first stage assembly completed, another milestone occurred last week as the main deck was air lifted from the Viglass department. With several of our overhead hoists providing the muscle, the main deck landed on the hull in one swift operation.  Sealed and bolted to the hull, we now have teams of shipwrights working below decks building the five staterooms, while galley units and appliances are being prepped.
This week, the Viking 93 Motor Yacht moved up a notch on the production line to the finish carpentry stage. While work continues below, topside, the salon and galley will shape up quickly with cabinetry and other appointments.  Stand by for more Motor Yacht action as next week the deckhouse will be installed.
