Meet the 68 C November 9th, 2017

“Another Legendary Boat”

Viking continues its dominance of the sportfishing yacht industry with the announcement of the 68 C, a four-stateroom blue-water convertible with unmatched performance, bulletproof construction, luxury interior accommodations and cutting-edge propulsion and boat control technologies.

The 68 C is designed and engineered to function equally as well as a tournament-ready offshore runner and a cruising yacht. Anglers do battle in a 176-square-foot cockpit, while guests can watch from an air-conditioned observation mezzanine. The boat is engineered for the installation of Seakeeper gyro stabilizer, which heightens comfort during both fishing and cruising activities.

“The 68 is another legendary boat in a long line of fishing boats for Viking in the 60-foot and 70-foot range,” Viking President and CEO Patrick Healey said during the announcement of the boat at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. “No one is doing the job we are doing today in this size range. We’re just crushing it.”

A high-gloss walnut finish decorates the entire interior, and the salon is a blueprint of intelligent form and function, utilizing the 19 ft. 2 in. beam to its full potential.

With a layout that puts the companionway to port, the starboard master stateroom is nearly the full beam of the boat. The crew quarters are discretely located, accessed via a separate set of steps off the companionway.
An aggressively raked stem, gently sloping sheer, swept-back black-masked windshield and flying bridge brow present a powerful yet elegant picture.
The flybridge holds our legendary center console helm with superb visibility to all quarters.
The 68 Convertible will be shown at our invitational 22nd Annual VIP Boat Show Preview, February 2-3, 2018, at the Viking Yacht Service Center in Riviera Beach, Florida. She makes her world premiere at the Miami Yacht Show on Collins Avenue February 15 through 19. For more information, contact your authorized Viking dealer.

Our new 44 Open not only appeals to families ready to take the next step into the Viking lifestyle, it’s also a logical choice for owners of outboard-powered center console boats looking for more comfort, conveniences and weather protection.

Because of its efficient use of space and larger-boat  amenities, the 44 O also gives seasoned owners who are looking to downsize the opportunity to continue experiencing Viking quality and performance.
The command deck of the 44 Open shares many of the practical and notable aspects of its larger siblings, including our signature centerline forward helm station on a raised platform for enhanced visibility. A table accompanies a four-person L-shaped lounge (with storage underneath) outfitted with comfortable padded seating. The port console holds refrigeration and stowage that includes tackle drawers.
Just steps away from the command deck, the 119-square-foot cockpit is tournament-ready with flush rod holders, a transom live well, and a transom door with a lift gate, tackle stowage, step-box coolers and in-deck fish and stowage wells. Guests can take in the fishing action from the observation mezzanine’s aft-facing lounge seating (which has freezer storage underneath).
The starboard-side galley includes teak cabinetry, expansive Corian countertops, an electric range, separate under-counter refrigerator and freezer units and a microwave/convection oven. Other notable amenities include a stereo system with a 24-inch flat screen TV.
A sliding companionway door and a large set of stairs with a starboard-side vertical handrail lead to the climate-controlled salon. With its 16 ft. 4 in. beam, the widest of any boat in this class, the salon is a spacious social area for relaxing and entertaining.
In the climate-controlled forward master stateroom, the island queen bed with mattress has a lift-up top with gas pistons and maple-lined storage underneath. Additional storage includes teak cabinetry and a maple-lined hanging locker.
Left: A one-piece molded Corian countertop with rounded edges, a sink with satin nickel faucet and custom Amtico flooring are just some of the highlights in the head. Right: With its two-person berth, the aft guest stateroom can accommodate another couple and makes for a nice hideaway for the kids.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is less than a month away, so make plans to come and see the 44 Open, which will be part of Viking‘s 15-vessel display at the November 1-5 event. For more information, please contact your authorized Viking dealer.
