With her raked bow, swept-back wraparound windshield and gently sloping sheer, the 44 Open presents a picture of strength and style. Built at Viking Mullica, the 44 Open is now being finished at Viking Headquarters in New Gretna, New Jersey.
The gin-clear windshield gives the captain maximum visibility from the raised center helm, which features a custom teak helm pod. Release Marine helm and flanking companion seats will be mounted on the command deck.
A table will accompany a four-person L-shaped lounge that will be outfitted with comfortable padded seating. The port console holds refrigeration with an ice maker and stowage. A wide, easily accessible port companionway leads to the salon, galley, two staterooms and head.
The starboard-side galley, which sits opposite an L-shaped lounge with a dinette table, includes teak cabinetry with meticulous joinery and fit and finish, expansive bone-color Corian countertops, an electric range, separate under-counter refrigerator and freezer units and a microwave/convection oven.
The engineroom, lazarette, forward bilge and anchor locker are all painted with bright white Awlgrip for maximum visibility and easier maintenance. A pair of state-of-the-art 800-hp six-cylinder inline MAN diesels power the 44 Open.
